Media & Wacky Stuff
By far, the most impressive stuff is the bizarre and unusual content that is completely unexpected. My very favorite piece of work received so far was a collaged dog dish sent by Jean Kusina of Ohio. It was funny because it wouldn't fit in my P.O. Box and I had to pick it from the clerk. She went into the back and when she came back she was smiling and said, "Oh, so you're the one!" I guess they are still talking about that piece of mail at the post office. It is a lovely dish with all kinds of dog-related images pasted across it and two $2.00 stamps stuck to the bottom. It was mailed unwrapped and the address was probably hard to find for the average postal employee. I also enjoyed a piece I received from Rae Trujillo (Rae's of Sun) of Pleasant Hill, CA. I had recently sent her a Compact disk (you know like the ones AOL send you?) with a collage and some enamel painted designs on it. Then a couple of weeks later I got her "music-themed" object back: a 78 record that had been cut into a postcard size shape and decorated with paint! But I bow down in reverence to the fellows at P-22, who send the really wacky stuff and a guy from Wales who sends out the coolest paper penguins.
