Student Comments 2007

I thank you very much for being a wonderful facilitator I hope that other facilitators have the same or even more level of care and professionalism that you have. I can truly say I was not comfortable at first when beginning this class because of all the work required but once I started to learn and looked back at some mistakes I have made and find myself willing to make changes where it is needed because I also can see myself as a facilitator one day. I can appreciate all of that work and hate to say goodbye.

I feel that the facilitator has worked quite well with posting early and also by explaining how the combinations of colors work or do not work in the assignments. And not only that but that she also keeps us aware of our designing processes. In being descriptive in her feedback and being demanding the same on feedback is what I expected and have been challenged throughout the course. I feel the more I write and become detail oriented and descriptive the more I can learn the concepts and I then can explain it to others and critique others better. I have to be honest this is a new concept to me and It is becoming a concept that is very important to me in everything I do. In the future I do hope that the other facilitators are the same or more challenging. I feel that in the art field it is very competitive and I truly want to succeed. It helps with instructors that push students to be better. I feel the more pressure now the better it will be for me to cope with the pressure to come.

I really appreciated all the feedback from everyone, especially from Dr. Starbuck. I liked how she seemed to be ready with feedback right away without having to wait until the next day to find out how I did. I will definitely use what I learned about the color harmonies in all my following classes and all the way through to my career of vehicleadvertising design.

The thing that was definitely most helpful and at the same time hard was the questions and urgency to actively participate in the projects and answers of our classmates. This really helped me in finding words and expressing ideas we more ease.

I was really dreading this class initally. I thought it was going to be a total nightmare from what you said about you and the class being very demanding. After I got in the swing of things, it seemed to get easier and I found you to be a very fair and understanding instructor. Thank you for your help and advice along the way!

...the most interesting thing about this class was the way that the instructor brought up questions about our comments. She made us look further.

...our instructor was very understanding about my health problem, which was very helpful. I’m going to take the summer off this year to work on my health because it’s hard to sit at a computer for lengths of time.
